History:
The Department of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering was at the creation of Agriculture University in Prague associated with the Faculty of Agriculture Mechanization. Head of the Department: 1952 – 1955 doc. Ing. Jindřich Nesvadba 1955 – 1973 prof. Ing. Dr. Antonín Pěkný 1973 – 1990 doc. Ing. Ladislav Zachariáš, CSc. 1990 – 2000 doc. Ing. Roman Scheller, CSc. 2000 – 2014 prof. Ing. Radomír Adamovský, DrSc. 2014 – up to now doc. Ing. Pavel Neuberger, Ph.D.
Focus:
The Department of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering is directed at development of theoretical technical disciplins and its practical aplicaton.
Educational activity:
The Department of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering is aimed at teaching basic theoretical technical disciplins, knowledge that is necessary in creative work of an engineer – technician. The theoretical disciplins are followed up with subjects concerned with aplication of gained theoretical knowledge and developing students ability to solve concrete technical problems.
Research activity:
In the field of science research activities the faculty employees are involved in solving technical systems of biomass and biogass usage, construction modification of combustion devices with the target to lower emission production, secondary air ventilation heat usage, quality and modification of stable environment, power demands of technological processes in animal production, transmission and regulation of power output of energy devices and high-cycle time-strength of notch construction parts.

Information on fullfilling development program of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
